AUSTIN, TX (July 29, 2013) — With the help of seven participating companies, a community-wide food drive, CANville 2013, raised 8,856 food items and $1,750 to donate to the Capital Area Food Bank.
The goal of CANville is to bring together community minded businesses to help the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) meet its Summer Meals That Matter goal of distributing 500,000 meals this summer.
Seven companies competed with one another Thursday July 25 by constructing an Austin landmark entirely out of canned food items that are now being donated to the food bank.
The seven competing companies were:
- BuildASign.com
- Builder Homesite (BHI)
- DrillingInfo
- CSID
- Maxwell Locke & Ritter
- Headspring
- Innography
The winner of this year’s CANville competition was Builder Homesite, Inc. (BHI) who built the “Greetings from Austin, Texas” landmark.
