Ten More Builders Join Consortium — Membership Tops Twenty Five
Austin, Texas – April 23, 2001 Builder Homesite, Inc., the emerging builder-founded consortium for the new home market, today announced that 25 of the top US homebuilders are now members of the consortium. The 25 consortium members represent over $37 billion in gross revenue for 2000 and build over 175,000 homes across the continental United States.
The 10 newest members to join the consortium are Del Webb Corporation, which builds in Arizona, Nevada, California, South Carolina, Texas, Florida and Illinois; Schuler Homes, which recently merged with Western Pacific to create a new addition in the top fifteen builders list and builds in the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, Arizona and Hawaii; Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company, which builds moderate-to-medium-priced homes across the US; Morrison Homes, which builds in 10 regions across the south; The Drees Company, which builds throughout Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina, Texas and Washington DC; Capital Pacific Holdings, which builds throughout the Southwest and Texas; American Heritage, which builds in Florida; Orleans Homebuilders, which builds in the Philadelphia metropolitan area; Hammonds Homes, which builds in Texas and Sivage Thomas Homes, which builds in New Mexico and Arizona.
According to Hanley Woods 2000 Builder 400 Report, the top 200 builders in the United States are responsible for over $56 billion dollars in revenue (Single Family Detached Homes) with over 320,000 closings annually. The members of the Builder Homesite consortium dominate this list and build for over 50% of the homes constructed by the top 200 builders in the United States.
