Company presented with an Innovative Home Technology Award at the International Builder’s Show in Orlando
AUSTIN, Texas, January 19, 2006 – Capping off a year of success, New Home Technologies, a consortium representing 36 of the nation’s largest homebuilders and 13 leading manufacturers, was awarded one of the building industry’s most prestigious awards for its Envision options management solution.
The 2006 Innovative Home Technology Awards (IHTAs) were presented at the International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Orlando on January 12. The IHTA’s are presented by the National Association of Home Builders, NAHB Research Center, and TecHome Builder Magazine. The awards are specifically aimed at recognizing significant advances by product manufacturers, integrators and builders in technology development for the housing industry. Envision won in the Sales/Design Center and Options Presentation Category.
“It is rewarding to receive this type of recognition from such respected industry leaders,” said Melissa Morman, Chief Operating Officer for New Home Technologies. “The industry’s leading builders and manufacturers have worked tirelessly over the past few years to help build a robust and dynamic options management system that works for the entire building industry – this is certainly further validation that we are heading in the right direction.”
Envision is a fully integrated options management solution for the entire building industry and includes specific tools for manufacturers, builders, design centers and homebuyers. The product launched in the Spring of 2005 and has continued to gain momentum.
Since September, four new builders have signed up to participate in the program – DeLuca Homes, Trendmaker Homes, Generation Homes, and Allen Edwin Homes. These additions bring the total Envision participants up to 17 builders who collectively build over 150,000 homes each year. Beazer Homes USA, Capital Pacific Homes, David Weekly Homes, KB Home, and Lennar already have thousands of homes successfully through the system and are beginning to see results.
To support the launching builders there are over 150 manufacturer brands with products in the system. The manufacturers are led by the members of the New Home Technologies Consortium: Georgia-Pacific, Hearth & Home Technologies, Honeywell, Kohler, Masco, Overhead Door, Owens Corning, Progress Lighting, Square D, Therma-Tru, Weyerhaeuser, Whirlpool Corp., and York International.
